The Unreal developers’s guide

I continue to refresh my knowledge about Unreal, and this books from the content seems very interesting.
First the book starts with description of environment working with light in Unreal engine.

Tree decisions state for AI decision making is interesting topic, but only briefly explained by this book.

One noticeable about this book, there less code , more talking about different types of configuration or design concepts in Unreal Engine.
Again this book actually more a guide to Unreal rather working with Unreal Engine itself, still there a lot of interesting and valuable bits.

Authors mentions post processing effects in Unreal Engine, interesting that feature can be used for creating of the mood in the game.

The code descriptions begin from chapter 7.

OK this book includes description VR experience too, nice.

Even topic about mobile games covered, yes I know Unreal can generate mobile games, still that amazing, that author mention to follow strict guidelines of the mobile stores, which is required if you plan to release on apple or google store.

Code wise there not so much, some general advises about structuring development in Unreal.

Overall impression and summary: sincerely I can’t recommend this book, yes Unreal Engine is huge, but that should not stop anyone to pocking in it until something useful can came out, rest assured this book only then make sense when you already in production mode, before that I honestly think this book has less value for preproduction state.
