Business Analysis Agility

This book is what I looked for in terms of business knowledge.

Already from beginning of the book, I start to notice, that it was written from the practitioner and not by some PhD theoretician.

Book author James Robertson shows actual example of business analysis on the case of the book shop , which undergone the digitization process.

This book not about statical proven data, its about information gathering and verifying if what you observer actually make sense in terms of client expectations, I called most times ground work.

There tons of companies which spent money on problems, which they could avoid or even not encountered just because a proper business analysis would provide workflow framework to give really good assertions about what to expect from the planed implementation.

I like how authors think about minimum viable product, which is not sufficient to have a market success, of course in terms of startups , they don’t have time to do due diligence and analyze markets, but here book suggest just to go and try and really change on the go.

Most certainly thinking about what you as company producing makes sense, business analysis specialist job to provided the needed safety for the company and raise concerns in times, for that purpose this book have a lot of tools and advises. This book consists of diagrams, but the authors don’t throw them around and it all make sense.

This book about the mindset and not about procedures, I like the idea about morality and responsibility of what the companies try to achieve with their technology solutions and how important to check with laws and not break them, during new product creating process.

Summary: Good book, but I can’t recommend it, it somehow slightly describes dealing with problems during agile adaptation , I think it’s a must to know knowledge , how to deal with client/s problems during the adaptation of agile methods.

On another side it is good introduction into the mindset of agile thinking for business, especially i liked parts about how to enquirer new requirements and making sure that project continue to go into right direction.
